Main Festivals and Events
Fair Fighting Bull:
There are a large number of herds of bulls in the region so that in March an allusive to this art fair where bullfights and cultural events are held is made.
Festival of Cheese and Wine:
Festival which is held since 1976 in late May and early June, where major production houses wines and cheeses of the region as well as some guests from around the country gather, offering tastings and selling their products, conferences and workshops on the preparation and tasting of cheeses and wines are also made, as well as artistic, cultural and musical activities that take place in the Parque La Pila.
Event in December where companies offering balloon flights together to provide more than 40 flights per day over a weekend, offering a great spectacle in the sky of this magical town. It is complemented with features outdoor cinema, music and cultural activities.
Festivity of Santa Cruz:
Held each year on May 3 in the neighborhood of San Juan, is prepared months in advance for the people of the community. Fireworks music, dancing, traditional food stalls and rides are among the attractions that you can enjoy. I recommend watching the dance of "Moros y Cristianos".
One of the most important festivities commemorating Tequisquiapan and Tequisquiapan Foundation, takes place on July 24 in the neighborhood of La Magdalena where Tequisquiapan born.
Feast in honor of Our Lady of the Assumption:
It is celebrated on August 15 in the main square "Miguel Hidalgo". It's a great tradition that every year come groups concheros of all communities and spend the whole day dancing in the atrium of the church as an offering to the Virgin, a mass was also performed in the courtyard of the square and ends by night with the traditional burning castle fireworks.
